What the Heck is a Scabbers?
Scabbers the Rat is a character from the popular "Harry Potter" series of books by J. K. Rowling. I recently read the first four books over a few days, and was tickled by the name "Scabbers"... Probably why it came to mind when I was thinking about a name to use for Raging Bull message boards.
Who the Heck Are You?
I describe myself in my first post on Raging Bull. I can be reached via e-mail at scabbers@ragingbull.com.
I choose to use a pseudonym in order to deter casual harassment and to prevent exposure of e-mail accounts I use for day-to-day business to mailbombing and spam. I don't delude myself that I'm truly anonymous, as "Smartguy" has certainly learned by now... I'll provide my identity to anyone who asks politely and has a reasonable need to contact the "real" me... Spammers and flamers can talk to the rat.
Why Are You Doing This?
I'm a VDCT shareholder, I've read the suit, and I have reason to believe that my stock has lost value due to illegal actions on the part of Fleet. I'm using my technical expertise, such as it is, to provide a resource for those following Video City.
BTW, I have received no compensation for creating this site, I'm not a paid poster, and I get no income from the banner ads that Tripod appends to these pages.
Why Don't You Just Cut Your Losses, and Shut Up Already?
Sure. No problemo! When Video City is out of bankruptcy, the merger has happened, and VDCT is trading above $10... I'll shut up. Fleet cutting Video City a nine or ten digit check would go far towards squelching me, too.
Otherwise, it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN, BUDDY!
